Upciti provides an operating system that transforms urban data into actionable intelligence.
Together, we launched UpcitiOS to consolidate millions of data points into clear reports, helping local governments understand their environments and make better decisions.
The rebrand aims to better showcase its new offering and strengthen its brand positioning.

Brand guidelines to pave the way for smarter cities
We selected a harmonious color palette to reflect every aspect of Upciti’s offerings. The solid primary colors, “Navy Blue” and “White,” are brought to life by vibrant accents such as “Yellow Tonic” and “Sky Blue.”
Cream tones serve as backgrounds, creating a simple, inviting, and warm aesthetic.
For typography, "Satoshi" serves as our primary font to convey simplicity, precision, and modern elegance. "Geist Mono" is used sparingly to highlight the brand's data and technological elements.
A brand system that scales across all media
To make Upciti’s data truly actionable, we designed a visual language that clarifies rather than overwhelms.
Every element was intentionally chosen to aid understanding, guiding audiences through the content while maintaining a strong connection to real-life imagery.
Graphic designs rely on clean layout grids across both digital and print formats, ensuring visual order and readability.

Creating marketing and sales pitch decks
Selling such a comprehensive service (hardware sensors, proprietary and third-party data, plus a robust web platform) required a compelling narrative that also conveyed a sense of care.
We created pitch decks to highlight the pressing challenges facing mid-sized cities, clearly demonstrating the immense value of using real-time data to inform development decisions and reduce costs.

Enhancing the digital presence across all touchpoints
Historically, Upciti had underinvested in its digital presence.
We partnered with them to launch a new website designed to build trust in the platform and effectively showcase their services alongside their marketing materials.
We also used the new brand guidelines to create engaging social media and ad formats to further capitalize on those opportunities alongside in-person events.

Setting the stage for a global brand
Global markets require a diverse mix of formats tailored to local nuances, all while maintaining strict brand consistency.
We developed a wide range of brand materials, including merchandise, event booths, and internal communications, to lay the groundwork for this new brand to scale effectively.

Bringing the team along for the ride
We participated in Upciti’s annual offsite to present our comprehensive product and brand work to their global team.
Our goal was to get everyone on board with this new direction, embedding the brand principles into our internal culture while clearly and transparently explaining our strategic approach.
A comprehensive solution to guide city operators in their daily work
The platform aggregates data from Upciti’s proprietary sensors and third-party sources, using AI to transform raw data into actionable insights.
Our mission was to build a product powerful enough to feel magical, yet intuitive enough for anyone to use—from tech-savvy analysts to mayors, team leaders, and field operators.

Designing a Navigation System for Real-World Workflows
Upciti addresses many operational scenarios, so we restructured the platform to align with the mental models of its various user personas.
We created a clear information hierarchy that showcases the full range of the product while keeping each user journey focused and easy to navigate.
Through a rigorous taxonomy, semantic alignment, and a unified iconographic system, we ensured that the entire experience feels coherent and familiar—enabling users to gain the right insights without any friction.
Creating meaningful urban visualizations
We intentionally designed and refined each chart type to maximize understanding and highlight key data.
We also gave users full control over their views: they can analyze, filter, and rearrange charts to highlight the insights relevant to their current context, eliminating unnecessary noise from the decision-making process.

Real-time data monitoring at your fingertips
The new UpcitiOS features a redesigned map interface, allowing users to visualize sensor values and spatial patterns at a glance.
The platform also introduces two other core modules: a hyper-accurate, fully customizable alerting system, and an AI-powered conversational agent that provides instant answers.
Together, these features bring to life a product vision in which users can seamlessly cross-reference sensor data and third-party data to uncover actionable recommendations.
